Every year we get so excited to watch the MTV VMA’s to root for our favorite performers and artists. We also love seeing what the stars are wearing on stage and on the red carpet! At the 2011 VMAs, expecting mother Beyoncé showed off her new baby bump wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sequin blazer while performing “Love on Top”. Some of our own Dancewear collections are inspired by this very look!
Now you too can get Katy Perry’s Rolling Stone Magazine Photo Shoot Look!

As a celebrity stylist, my job is to always be on top of trends. I travel the world, research global trends, and forecast my predictions on what will be hot in stores each season.
My current trend report is focused on graphic animal prints. Celebrities like Selena Gomez, Fergie, Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus are starting to wear bright colored leopard and cheetah print dresses to a number of awards ceremonies this year.
Often with a statement print, girls don’t need to accessorize with very many pieces because the look becomes too busy. I recommend a classic black heel or bootie for shoes. Your hair should not be overdone because it will take away from the print! A simple clutch that will match your dress in gold, silver or black looks great.
My trends are featured in Stars Dancewear’s new catalog and also online here.
The key trend I’ve researched this season is bright colored fur. Imagine a mix of colors like juicy pear, blood orange and shocking pink.
My latest dance collection for Stars Dancewear is inspired by intergalactic neon colors made of fur fabric to spice it up.
Teen girls are accessorizing with fur all over the streets of New York City and Japan. Michael Kors’ collection accurately describes this fashion trend, as his design techniques and color directions are sharp and stunning. I also love Dolce and Gabbana’s hot pink fur coat.
You saw my last color trend report focused on the deep saturated color story with magenta being the queen of color. My latest trend report is much softer and girly. The popular colors include all shades of nudes: blush, taupe, skin tone and beige. I saw neutrals all throughout Parisand in a cool 3-D laser cut appliqué crop bolero by H&M.
This trend forecast also consists of vintage country styles like ditsy floral print sundresses. I noticed a lot of this in Europe this spring and we are seeing it inLos Angelesnow too. As it is getting warmer, I’ve been spotting celebrities on the streets ofHollywoodin spring’s hottest new trends.
Lace is essential this spring, translating soft and feminine looks into flowy tops and sewn into draped tops at the shoulders.
Bohemian Romantic is another characteristic of this trend report.
Picture an Indian summer landscape featuring fringe and bead embellishments.
I checked out Rihanna’s fringe dress she wore while performing on tour inLos Angeles. So gorgeous!
We know its competition and recital season right now, but we want our VIP email members to be the most informed and of course the trendiest girls out there. My design team just returned from the latest Fashion Week runways shows in New York and Paris. The designers and I also had the chance to stop by our favorite boutiques and hidden gems in these fashion capitals and go trend shopping!
I noticed a lot of deep saturated bright colors including reds, teals and purples. My top fashion colors this next season are magenta and violet. You will be seeing a lot of these colors in Stars Dancewear’s upcoming collection. Magenta was seen on dresses, couches, and even a chair by Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris. The shade of these Nike tennis shoes is right on trend with my predictions! This color will be very popular in 2012, so take note!
The visuals at Lanvin Paris were amazing! The windows displayed very rich colored clothing paired with chunky jewelry and emphasis on the bare leg.
Watch for my next Trend Report, “Feminine Chic”, offering you exclusive fashion tips about how to wear neutrals, lace, and country florals in style.
